Groups can be slow or fast to respond, and groups come and go. You should be open to asking a lot of questions to make yourself feel comfortable.

A Wiccan group functions best when people like each other, are in sync with each other, and get along. That means a local group may not be the best choice for you. Sometimes people travel two hours when there’s a group ten minutes away–because the “click” was with the more distant group.

Wicca traditionally does not charge money! People may ask you to contribute to shared expenses or to bring something, but training and initiation are not things we charge for. Other religions and other traditions do things differently, and that’s okay, but it’s not for us.

Any suggestion that sex is required for initiation is a huge red flag!
